Bali Mabena is Executive Manager responsible for Customer Services. Previously she was SAA Global Baggage Service Manager based at OR Tambo International Airport. She was previously positioned in Namibia as the Acting Country Manager in 2018.
Ms Mabena has been a member of number of aviation committees, IATA Baggage Committees, Local Baggage Form, Airlines Association Committee (Namibia) and Star Alliance Baggage Champions amongst others. She is a champion of Excellent Customer Service Delivery. In September 2005, she was appointed as Global Manager Customer Care.
In 2009, she was appointed as a first black woman to manage SAA Global Baggage Services Department and achieved amazing performance in baggage mishandling. She increased operational performance and ensure compliance with IATA & Star Alliance’s baggage rules & regulations. She successfully managed to collaborate with the key stakeholders such as ACSA, Ground Handlers to reduce baggage pilferage at OR Tambo International Airport.
Ms Mabena has had a distinguished career at the helm and in leadership roles of several areas in South African Airways since 1995. She has been in aviation sector for over 26 years. She is a Damelin and Wits Business School graduate.
