The Board of Airline Representatives South Africa (BARSA) has appointed Siyabonga Kheswa as Senior Manager within the Organisation.
Siyabonga spent the past seven years within the aviation industry at ACSA as a Senior Operations Controller at O.R. Tambo International Airport and successfully executed a number of projects in this role.
He holds a Diploma in IT Networking from College Campus, Parktown, as well as several certificates in the areas of supervision and apron management, and safety management systems.
In his most recent role as Senior Operations Controller at Airports Company South Africa, Siyabonga was involved in, among others, liaising with stakeholders; daily verification of information captured; monitoring aviation, tourism and economic trends; analysing relevant data and providing synopses; and deputising for the H.O.D Operations when required.
In his new role as Senior Manager at BARSA, Siyabonga will be assisting CEO June Crawford in executing their mandate from their international airlines membership.
Says June regarding Siyabonga’s appointment: “BARSA welcomes Siyabonga to our Organisation. His appointment became necessary when the BARSA Board noted that BARSA`s current role and contribution to the Aviation and the Tourism industry required an additional resource.”
