Newly appointed BARSA chairperson, Carla Da Silva, has won first place in the corporate category of the Elle Boss Awards, created to celebrate women’s achievements with an emphasis on identifying future leaders as well as supporting them through this platform for exposure and networking.
“I am extremely proud to have been chosen as the winner of the Elle Boss Awards corporate category in a country that has created so many truly inspiring female leaders. This awards initiative pays tribute to the women who drive our economy and nurture our leaders of tomorrow,” explains Carla.
“It is a privilege for me to have been singled out among them.”
Key attributes taken into consideration when judging the corporate and entrepreneurial award categories, included performance, growth, management experience, ongoing learning, personal advancement and corporate social responsibility.
Gisèle Wertheim-Aymés, Managing Director of Isiko Media (Pty) Ltd and Publisher of ELLE South Africa highlighted the quality of entries for the inaugural awards. “It was a challenge to decide on the six finalists as we had such great entries. The women on our shortlist are inspiring, visionary women and leaders to watch for the future.”
